Emergency Lockout Assistance
Phone first if a child or a pet is inside
Say it the moment we answer. A car warms up dangerously fast in the Eastern Cape sun, and this jumps to the front of the queue. Keep an eye on the child, keep them talking if they are old enough, and stay where you are. We come straight away, and if the situation looks serious we tell you to phone emergency services at the same time.
We open the door, we do not break it
Our people use tools made for this work. On most cars we reach the lock or the handle through the door frame without touching the paint or the glass. On homes we pick, bypass or open the lock and leave the door in one piece.
Breaking a window is a last resort that we almost never need, and we never do it without telling you first.
We check the car or house belongs to you
Before any door opens, we ask for ID and something that ties you to the property or vehicle. It feels like a formality when you are standing in the cold. It is also the only thing standing between your car and the next person who fancies it, so we do it every time.
Car lockouts
Keys locked on the seat, keys shut in the boot, a car that locked itself while it was running, a child who pressed the lock button. We see all of these every week. Once we are in, we check whether the key still works properly, because a car that locked itself is sometimes telling you about a failing central locking system.
If the key is gone rather than locked inside, we can make a new one on the spot. That is covered under lost car key replacement.
Home and office lockouts
A door that slammed in the wind, a key that broke in the lock, a lock that seized after years without attention. We open it, and then we tell you honestly whether the lock is still worth keeping.
If your keys were stolen rather than lost, we can rekey or replace the locks the same visit so anyone holding them cannot get in.
Why you should not try it yourself
Wire coat hangers and shoelace tricks were built for cars from the eighties. Modern doors are full of wiring, airbag sensors and cables, and the usual result of a home attempt is a bill much larger than the call out would have been. The same goes for credit cards on house locks, which mostly damages the door frame.
We work across Port Elizabeth and Gqeberha at any hour
Our vans cover the whole Gqeberha metro, from Summerstrand and Humewood through Walmer, Newton Park, Lorraine, the western suburbs and Bluewater Bay. We work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays, because that is when most lockouts happen.
How emergency lockout assistance works
Phone us and tell us where you are, what you are locked out of and whether anyone is inside.
We tell you how long we will be and send the nearest van.
We check your ID and proof that the car or property is yours.
We open the door with tools that leave no damage.
We check the lock and the key still work properly afterwards.
If a key needs cutting or a lock needs rekeying, we do it while we are there.
We're out this way most weeks — so you'll find us near:
What affects the price of emergency lockout assistance?
Lockout prices depend on what we are opening and when:
A car, a house, an office or a security gate
The kind of lock and how it has to be opened
The time of day, since late night and public holiday call outs carry more
How far out in the metro you are standing
Whether a key needs to be cut or a lock rekeyed once we are in
Phone us and describe the situation. We will tell you the price before we drive out.

FAQS
How fast can you get to me?
It depends where you are in the metro and what time it is, though most call outs are reached within the hour. We tell you a realistic time when you phone rather than a hopeful one.
Will you damage my car door getting in?
No. We use tools made for opening cars and reach the lock through the door frame without marking the paint or the glass. Breaking a window is a last resort we almost never need.
My child is locked in the car. What should I do?
Phone us immediately and say so at the start of the call, because we treat it as urgent. Stay with the car, keep watching the child, and phone emergency services too if they look distressed.
Do you need proof that the car is mine?
Yes, every time. Your ID plus registration papers, a licence disc, a lease or a utility bill for a property. It is the reason your car is harder to steal.
Do you come out at night and over weekends?
Yes. We work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays, which is when most lockouts happen.
My keys were stolen. Can you make the locks safe again?
Yes. We open the door and then rekey or replace the locks in the same visit so the stolen keys stop working.
