Say it the moment we answer. A car warms up dangerously fast in the Eastern Cape sun, and this jumps to the front of the queue. Keep an eye on the child, keep them talking if they are old enough, and stay where you are. We come straight away, and if the situation looks serious we tell you to phone emergency services at the same time.
We open the door, we do not break it
Our people use tools made for this work. On most cars we reach the lock or the handle through the door frame without touching the paint or the glass. On homes we pick, bypass or open the lock and leave the door in one piece.
Breaking a window is a last resort that we almost never need, and we never do it without telling you first.

Before any door opens, we ask for ID and something that ties you to the property or vehicle. It feels like a formality when you are standing in the cold. It is also the only thing standing between your car and the next person who fancies it, so we do it every time.

How fast can you get to me?
It depends where you are in the metro and what time it is, though most call outs are reached within the hour. We tell you a realistic time when you phone rather than a hopeful one.
Will you damage my car door getting in?
No. We use tools made for opening cars and reach the lock through the door frame without marking the paint or the glass. Breaking a window is a last resort we almost never need.
My child is locked in the car. What should I do?
Phone us immediately and say so at the start of the call, because we treat it as urgent. Stay with the car, keep watching the child, and phone emergency services too if they look distressed.
Do you need proof that the car is mine?
Yes, every time. Your ID plus registration papers, a licence disc, a lease or a utility bill for a property. It is the reason your car is harder to steal.
Do you come out at night and over weekends?
