Business and Office Locks
Keys go missing far more often at work than at home
Every business ends up in the same place eventually. Somebody left two years ago and nobody remembers collecting their key, a cleaner has a set, a contractor borrowed one, and the front door has been the same lock since the company moved in.
Rekeying is the quiet fix for that. The doors and the hardware stay where they are, the insides of the locks change, and every old key stops working from that moment. It is far cheaper than replacing the locks and it takes a fraction of the time.
One key that opens everything you are allowed to open
A master key system takes a building full of separate keys and organises it. Each person carries one key that opens the doors they need, while a master key opens all of them for you or your manager.
The usual setup runs something like this. Staff get into the main entrance and their own area. Managers get into the offices and the storerooms. The owner carries one key that opens the lot. Cleaners get the common areas and nothing else.
It removes the keyring full of unlabelled keys and, more usefully, it gives you a record of who can go where.
Locks that handle the traffic
An office front door gets used far more in a week than a house door does in a month. Domestic locks fitted to a business entrance wear out quickly, start sticking and then fail on a Monday morning with staff standing outside.
We fit hardware built for the load, and we tell you when a lock that is still working is close to the end so you can plan it rather than deal with it in a rush.
Meeting the fire rules without leaving the door open
Escape doors have to open from the inside without a key, and plenty of businesses solve that by leaving a door on a latch, which defeats the point. Proper escape hardware lets people out instantly and keeps everyone else out. We fit panic bars and escape locks that do both.
Access control, when keys stop being enough
Once you pass a certain number of staff, keys become a chore. Card and code systems let you switch a person off the moment they leave, and they show you who came through which door and when. We can talk you through whether that step is worth taking for your premises or whether a master key system covers you for now.
After a break in
Phone us and we secure the premises first, even when the door itself needs work afterwards. We board, repair or replace what we can right away and come back to finish the job properly. If it happened after hours, we come out after hours, which is covered under emergency lockout assistance.
We look after your vehicles too
A lot of our commercial customers also run bakkies and vans. We make fleet spares on site so a lost key never puts a vehicle out of action for a day, which we explain under mobile auto locksmith call-outs.

What affects the price of business and office locks?
Commercial work is priced on the site rather than a standard rate:
How many doors and locks the job covers
Whether you are rekeying existing locks or fitting new hardware
Whether a master key system is being set up across the building
The grade of lock the doors need for the traffic they take
Whether the work happens during business hours or after them
Whether escape hardware or access control forms part of it
Phone us and describe your premises. We will come out, look at the doors and give you a proper price.

FAQS
A staff member left without returning their key. What should I do?
Rekey the locks they had access to. The doors and hardware stay as they are, the insides change, and their key stops working immediately.
What is a master key system?
It is a setup where each person carries one key for the doors they need, while a master key opens all of them. It replaces a ring full of keys and gives you control over who goes where.
Is rekeying cheaper than replacing the locks?
Usually by a long way, and it is quicker too. Replacement makes sense when the lock is worn out or the door needs a higher grade of hardware.
Do our escape doors need special locks?
They have to open from the inside without a key. Panic bars and escape locks do that while keeping the door secure from the outside, which is safer than propping a door open.
Can you work after hours so we do not lose trading time?
Yes. Most of our commercial work happens in the evenings or over weekends so your staff and customers are not held up.
We were broken into last night. How quickly can you come?
We come out as an emergency and secure the premises first, then repair or replace the damaged hardware properly afterwards.
