Home Lock Rekeying
Moving into a new home should feel settled. It is hard to relax when you do not know how many copies of the old keys are still out there. Home lock rekeying gives you a fresh set of keys while keeping the locks that are already fitted to your doors.
We come to homes across Port Elizabeth and Gqeberha, change the working parts inside each suitable lock and test every new key before we leave.
How home lock rekeying works
Tell us what changed. Call or WhatsApp 084 513 4914 and explain whether you moved in, lost a key or need to remove someone else's access.
Send a few photos. Clear pictures of the lock and door help us bring the right parts.
Get the price first. We confirm the callout and the expected cost before coming to you.
Show that you can authorise the work. We check that you own, rent or manage the property.
We rekey each suitable lock. The cylinder or lock core is removed and set to work with a new key.
We cut and test the keys. Every key is checked from both sides of each door.
You take control of the copies. The old keys stop working and the new set is handed to you.
We're out this way most weeks — so you'll find us near:

FAQS
What does rekeying a lock mean?
We change the small parts inside the lock so the old key no longer lines up. The lock stays on the door and you get new keys that work with it.
Should I rekey the locks after moving into a new home?
Yes. You cannot know how many copies were made for past owners, tenants, cleaners or contractors. Rekeying makes every old copy useless.
Can you make several doors work with one key?
Often yes, as long as the locks use compatible cylinders. We check the front door, back door, garage and gates and tell you which ones can share a key.
Is rekeying cheaper than replacing the locks?
Usually. The handles, cylinders and door hardware stay in place, so you pay for the keying work and new keys instead of a full set of locks.
Can you rekey a lock when every key is missing?
Yes in many cases. We open or remove the cylinder, read the lock and set it to a new key. We will tell you if a damaged lock needs replacement instead.
How long does it take to rekey a house?
A small home with a few standard locks can often be finished in one visit. The time depends on the number and type of locks and whether you want them on one key.
